  • CHILD, Inc. especially works with children who may be troubled, dependent, neglected and abused. CHILD, Inc. also works with children and families who have been impacted by domestic violence. CHILD, Inc. provides the following services:
    1. The only children's shelter and runaway center in the state of Delaware
    2. Parent Education Programs and the Children First Program, which deals with separation, divorce and visitation
    3. Specialized foster care program
    4. School programs for anger management and preventing dating violence
    5. Domestic Violence Services, offering shelter and treatment for the victims and treatment for the perpetrator of violence
    6. Sparrow Run Family Resource Center, offering family resource programs such as tutoring, literacy, parent education, domestic violence treatment for the victims and perpetrator of the violence, food clubs, and other community based programs

  • The Delaware Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCADV) is a statewide, nonprofit organization of domestic violence agencies and individuals working to eliminate domestic violence through
    1. Acting as an educational and informational resource to our member agencies and the community
    2. Advocating for domestic violence concerns in Delaware
    3. Providing a strong, unified statewide voice for victims of domestic violence and their children, domestic violence programs, and victim service providers.
    The staff, board, members, and volunteers of the DCADV work with our member organizations and allies to support the empowerment of victims of domestic violence and their children through access to services and legal remedies. DCADV also seeks to change the societal conditions that support sexism, racism, homophobia, and other oppressions and which contribute to the continued presence of domestic and sexual violence in intimate relationships.

The Legal Help Link coordinates the services of agencies that provide legal assistance to low income individuals in Delaware.Callers are screened for both income and problem eligibility.   • Stop the Violence Prayer Chain Foundation is made up of men and women from all walks of life. Our main goal is to help in the communities where we are needed. We are on a mission to help the less fortunate. We go out in our communities plagued by gun violence; we link hands with the community in prayer with families who have lost loved ones to gun violence. We are determined to do anything we can to combat violence and prevent recidivism for our youth and young adults. We also help homeless veterans and their families, domestic violence victims, youth and young adults in need of employment and training, less fortunate families in need.

  • The Victim Services Unit is made up of civilians who work with victims of violent crime in the city of Wilmington. Services include support, crisis counseling, information and referrals to victims. This can include victims of shootings, assaults, homicide and domestic and sexual violence. A large part of the unit's work is offering victims information on the police, criminal justice system and in filing for help with certain crime-related expenses. The Victim Services Unit is also available to respond to a crime scene and for other crisis responses. The unit works closely with the police to provide safety and court information specifically for victims of domestic violence and for Spanish-speaking victims. Victims can be connected to shelter services, court help and social services which may help them reach safety for themselves and their children.
